Closing Checklist for Your New Home

Apart from snagging, are there other requirements to close the sale of my new home?

To make things run as smoothly as possible, there are a few things that you should organise ahead of closing the sale on your new Glenveagh home.

We’ve put together a checklist to help you along the way:

  1. If you have been approved for a mortgage, double check that your loan offer is still in date. If not, you will need to get it updated with your mortgage lender.
  2. Once a completion notice is issued, check that your bank has all the documents needed for drawdown.
  3. Check that your solicitor has begun the drawdown process. Lenders can take up to 3 weeks to process mortgage drawdowns.
  4. If you are availing of the Help to Buy scheme, make sure that you have given us your Claim Reference Number, so it can be verified with Revenue.
  5. If you are availing of the First Home Scheme, make sure that all the documents needed have been submitted. This needs to be done before drawdown.
  6. Make sure you have your mortgage protection in place.
  7. Make sure you have your mortgage protection and home insurance in place.
